About Us:
The legend began in the autumn of 1999, when Kevin and Brasky oddly met through their love of kites. It was at the World Kite Fair in Hong Kong, China. They talked about kites for 3 straight days and quickly became best friends, then one week later Brasky came upon an idea that would change the course of history forever. They would express their love of kites through song. Brasky was known to be the best spoon player in the midwest, and Kevin was world reknowed for his facinating taborine licks and especially for his commercial jingles, such as "Slide out of your Banister" for the Land of Lakes Butter Corporation. So the original band was born and they were dubbed the Ben Franklin Duo. Success was inevitable, and it came quickly. Their first single "Its a bird, Its a plane, No its my mother f-ing Kite yo" climbed to number 1 on the Billboard Charts. The duo's new found success was amazing but it didn't come without a price. Brasky began staying out all night at random Bingo Halls, drinking excessive amounts of ginsing, and huffing bingo stampers. This went on for months without effecting the band until the night of Decemeber 12th 2002 when Brasky hit an all time low at an Atlantic City bingo parlor. Brasky, high of his bingo marker, got into a scuffle with a 87 year old woman over an autographed picture of Andy Griffith, he then proceeded to punch the woman in the breast, he then stole the picture, her wig, and then pryed the poor womans dentures from her mouth. Brasky was found by police 6 hours later passed out in a fountain wearing only the womans wig and dentures and screaming the Andy Griffith Theme Song. "I was pretty fucked up," Brasky said in a later Rolling Stone Interview. This episode sent the frontman to a 3 year rehab sentence to battle his addictions. The band was over. While in year 2 of his rehab stay, Brasky started to make some new friends. This is when he met lead singer Aron "Cool Cock" Adamczyk who was in the program for his strange but dangerous addiction to peeps. Aron recognized Brasky as the spoon player from the the BFD, and they started to talk music. They would eventually start writing and playing songs to the other Rehab guests. "That year was the balls," said Aron in a recent Alternative Press interview. Meanwhile as Brasky was getting his life back together, Kevin was struggling more then ever. After Brasky left for rehab Kevin tried to start a solo career. He realeased one CD, which sold 11 copies. He was immedietly dropped from his label. He roamed kareoke bar's around the country trying to find someone to replace Brasky but it was never the same. "Brasky and I were like mac n cheese, you can't split that shit up," said Kevin in 2006. In 2003 Kevin, who was short on cash, joined a Blue Man Group Tribute Band called the Green Man Group so he could pay bills. There he was forced to play guitar since the tamborine was not featured. Although he began to rule at the guitar he quit the band in 2006, when he bacame frusterated that he had to play Blue Man Groups shitty music, so he convinced another performer in the show(Ivan) who played lead trash can, to quit and start a new band. This was the same time that Brasky and Cool Cock were realeased from rehab. Kevin reunited with his old band mate Brasky. They would start a new band! SOPHOMORE SLUMP was born. Their music has caught the nation off gaurd, and they quickly become a worldwide phenom. "Brasky and the Shotguns write songs that could make satin cry," Brasky proclaimed in Rolling Stone Magazine, "and that asshole is as tough as they come."
